Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley 1734-IE4C is a high-density analog input module designed for the POINT I/O™ platform, providing four high-precision current input channels in a slim, space-saving form factor. This module is engineered to interface with field sensors that generate 0 to 20mA or 4 to 20mA signals, converting these continuous physical variables into 16-bit digital values for the controller. Its ultra-compact 12mm width makes it an essential component for distributed I/O configurations where cabinet space is at a premium.

Designed for seamless integration into Logix-based architectures via Studio 5000®, the 1734-IE4C supports diverse process control applications ranging from chemical processing to wastewater management. The module installs onto a 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base, allowing for "Change-of-State" (COS) data reporting to optimize network bandwidth and ensure high-speed system responsiveness.

Technical Performance and Signal Integrity

The 1734-IE4C utilizes a Sigma-Delta conversion method to achieve superior noise rejection and measurement stability. Each of the four channels is independently monitored, providing the processor with granular data including over-range and under-range detection. To ensure long-term reliability in industrial environments, the module features built-in digital filtering that can be configured to suppress 50Hz or 60Hz line noise.

For maintenance efficiency, the module supports "Removal and Insertion Under Power" (RIUP), allowing technicians to replace faulty slices without shutting down the entire I/O segment. Visual diagnostics are provided through a set of LED indicators on the front panel, which communicate module status, network activity, and individual channel faults at a glance.
