Arbor Technology Brings High-Power NVIDIA RTX Graphics to Rugged Edge AI
Arbor Technology has introduced the FPC-9309W-G5, a rugged edge computing platform designed to bring workstation-class GPU performance into industrial and transportation environments. The system combines Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors with support for a full-length NVIDIA RTX 50 Series GPU rated up to 575 W.

The platform is aimed at real-time AI inference, machine vision, smart manufacturing, and intelligent transportation, where processing data locally can reduce latency and limit dependence on remote cloud infrastructure.
The FPC-9309W-G5 uses an LGA1851 processor platform with Intel W880E chipset support and configurable 35 W or 65 W Intel Core Ultra processors, including Core Ultra 5, 7, and 9 options up to the Core Ultra 9 285. Four DDR5 U-DIMM sockets support up to 192 GB of memory, with ECC and non-ECC configurations available.

Its main differentiator is GPU capacity. The system provides two PCIe x16 slots capable of supporting a single 600 W graphics card or two 300 W GPUs. This allows the platform to accommodate high-performance NVIDIA RTX 50 Series hardware for computationally intensive AI vision and inference applications.
The thermal envelope changes depending on configuration. With a 65 W CPU, the system is rated from -20°C to 55°C, while a 35 W processor extends the upper limit to 70°C. When an RTX 5090-class 575 W GPU is installed, the operating range is reduced to -20°C to 45°C, an important consideration for deployments in hot industrial environments.
Storage options include two accessible 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive bays and two M.2 NVMe SSD slots. RAID 0, 1, and 5 support provides options for performance, redundancy, or capacity depending on the deployment.
Networking is handled by four Intel Ethernet controllers, with each RJ-45 port supporting up to 2.5 GbE. This configuration can support applications involving multiple machine-vision cameras, industrial data streams, or distributed transportation sensors without requiring additional network expansion cards.
The system also provides eight USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, configurable RS-232/422/485 interfaces, additional RS-232 ports, digital I/O, dual HDMI 2.1, and dual DisplayPort 2.1 outputs. Wireless connectivity can be expanded through M.2 and mini-PCIe interfaces, including optional Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, and LTE hardware.

Power input is designed for mobile and industrial installations, supporting 24 V to 48 V DC through a terminal block. Ignition control and power-delay functions further support vehicle-based deployments, while optional 600 W and 1000 W DIN-rail AC/DC power supplies are available.
For rugged applications, Arbor specifies MIL-STD-810G vibration and shock compliance, TPM 2.0 security, and a -40°C to 85°C storage range. The metal chassis is wall-mountable and weighs approximately 7.4 kg.
With its combination of high-power GPU support, industrial I/O, multi-gigabit networking, and ruggedized construction, the FPC-9309W-G5 is positioned for edge workloads where conventional office workstations are not suitable. Typical applications include automated visual inspection, intelligent transportation systems, robotics, smart factories, and other AI-enabled industrial systems.
The platform reflects a broader shift toward moving AI processing closer to machines and sensors, allowing manufacturers to make decisions locally while reducing network latency and bandwidth requirements.
