Compatibility and Upgrade Path The CP471-00 S1 is the designated successor to the CP461 processor. When upgrading a system from CP461 to CP471-00 S1, the Field Control Station must be running software version R6.05 or higher. Additionally, the associated ESB Bus Coupler (EC401) must be Style S3 or later to facilitate high-speed backplane communication.

Strict Pair Matching While the system allows for an online migration from a pair of CP461s to a pair of CP471s, it is important to note that a CP461 and a CP471 cannot operate together as a redundant pair. Both slots must contain the same processor model to maintain synchronization and data integrity.

Expert Installation Requirements Due to the complexity of DCS synchronization and the critical nature of the control logic housed within the processor, hardware migration and initial commissioning should be performed by certified technical personnel to ensure compliance with Yokogawa’s safety and performance standards.
