  • Multiplexed Excitation: Supplies a 10 mA DC multiplexed excitation current to field RTDs. This non-continuous current pulse minimizes sensor self-heating while ensuring accurate resistance measurements.

  • VCO-Based Conversion: Employs a Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) type A/D converter, featuring voltage-to-frequency converters and sample counters for superior noise rejection.

  • Dual-Speed Scanning: Supports multiple sampling rates, providing 4 samples per second in Normal Mode and up to 25 samples per second in Fast Mode for rapid thermal response.

  • Broad Sensor Compatibility: The onboard Digital Signal Processor (DSP) features software linearization libraries for 15 distinct RTD types, ensuring versatile field instrument support.

  • Interference Suppression: High-frequency decoupling is applied to all signal inputs to mitigate electromagnetic interference (EMI) typical in power plant environments.

  • Fault Detection and Recovery: Integrated out-of-range monitoring identifies short circuits and open loops instantly. Faulty channels are isolated to protect the integrity of the scan and can be automatically restored after a 20-second cooling period.
