The Foxboro FBM214 is a high-performance analog input module designed for the I/A Series Distributed Control System (DCS). This interface module provides eight channels specifically engineered to support 4 to 20 mA analog signals with integrated HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) digital communication. By bridging the gap between field instrumentation and the control room, the FBM214 allows for the simultaneous acquisition of primary process variables and advanced diagnostic data from intelligent field devices.

The module acts as a dedicated host for HART communications, allowing the system to execute universal, common practice, and device-specific commands. This functionality enables plant operators to perform remote configuration, calibration, and health monitoring of field assets through the Intelligent Field Device Configurator (IFDC), significantly optimizing maintenance workflows and process reliability.
