Gap Voltage Calibration

To ensure accurate vibration readings, engineers must set the mechanical "Gap" between the probe tip and the target shaft. Using a voltmeter, monitor the output at the Proximitor® Sensor. For a 3300 XL 8mm system, the standard center-gap setting is -10.0 VDC, which corresponds to the midpoint of the sensor's linear range.

Cable Routing and Bend Radius

The coaxial cable must not be kinked during installation. Maintain a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1 inch). Use conduit or cable trays to protect the lead from mechanical damage, and always ensure the ClickLoc™ connectors are clean and dry before mating to prevent signal attenuation.

Q2: What is the benefit of the FluidLoc® cable?

A2: FluidLoc® prevents process fluids (like oil) from migrating through the inside of the cable. This protects your junction boxes and Proximitor® sensors from oil contamination, which is a leading cause of signal drift.

Q3: Can this probe be used with a 5-meter or 9-meter system?

Q4: Is the M10 thread interchangeable with 3/8-24 threads?

A4: No. This is a metric M10x1 thread. Attempting to force it into an imperial 3/8-24 hole will damage the machine casing and the probe threads. Always verify your mounting port threads before installation.
