As an eddy-current proximity probe, it is used for non-contact measurement of relative shaft displacement. When paired with the correct 3300 XL extension cable and Proximitor sensor of the same system length, the probe supports continuous vibration and position-related measurements used in machinery protection and condition monitoring programs.
