The GE IS220YPROS1A is a Backup Protection I/O module (I/O pack) used in Mark VIe turbine control and protection architectures. It is designed to interface protection-related field signals with the control network, supporting measurement and monitoring functions required for backup protection strategies. The module connects to compatible terminal boards via a high-density connector and communicates over Ethernet, allowing distributed I/O placement close to field wiring while keeping protection logic coordinated at the system level.
