The Allen-Bradley 2198-H015-ERS is a high-efficiency Kinetix 5500 series servo drive designed to provide precise motion control within the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture. This Frame 2 drive supports both asynchronous induction motors and synchronous permanent magnet servo motors, utilizing a single-cable design to simplify installation and reduce wiring complexity. By leveraging EtherNet/IP for both motion and safety functions, the 2198-H015-ERS eliminates the need for dedicated safety networks while providing high-speed, deterministic performance. Its compact footprint and flexible power range make it an ideal choice for modern, space-conscious industrial machinery.

Integrated Motion and Hardwired Safety Equipped with "Safe Torque Off" functionality, the 2198-H015-ERS ensures personnel safety by preventing the drive from delivering rotational energy to the motor without removing power from the entire system. It complies with global safety standards including SIL 3 and PLe, supporting hardwired safety integration.

High-Bandwidth Control Loops To ensure maximum precision, the drive features a 1000 Hz current loop and a 300 Hz velocity loop. Combined with a 4 kHz PWM frequency, these specifications allow for exceptionally smooth motion profiles and rapid response to load disturbances, which is critical for high-speed packaging and assembly applications.

Flexible Network Topologies Featuring dual Ethernet ports, the drive supports Device Level Ring (DLR), linear, and star topologies. This allows for high network resiliency; in a DLR configuration, the system can maintain communication even if a single point in the network ring is compromised, significantly reducing potential downtime.
