The Allen-Bradley 1771-IFE is a high-performance analog input module specifically engineered for the PLC-5 Universal I/O platform. This module serves as a critical interface for translating real-world analog signals from field sensors into digital data that the processor can interpret. Capable of supporting up to 16 single-ended or 8 differential inputs, the 1771-IFE provides exceptional flexibility for monitoring diverse process variables such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level. Its time-tested architecture ensures high reliability and precise data acquisition in demanding industrial automation environments.

High-Resolution Data Conversion Featuring a 12-bit plus sign resolution, the 1771-IFE converts analog signals into scaled digital values. Data can be formatted in Natural Binary or BCD (Binary Coded Decimal), allowing for seamless integration into various PLC-5 data table structures and simplifying HMI scaling.

Noise Immunity and Isolation To ensure data integrity in electrically noisy factory environments, the module utilizes optical isolation to protect the backplane from field-side transients. Integrated digital filtering further smooths input signals, reducing the impact of high-frequency interference on process measurements.

Simplified Maintenance The 1771-IFE is compatible with the 1771-WG wiring arm. This design allows for the module to be replaced without disturbing the existing field wiring, significantly reducing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and preventing wiring errors during maintenance cycles.
