Cross-Talk Suppression and Rotor Dynamics Analysis

The moving-coil design generates a voltage proportional to the velocity of the vibrating surface. Cross-talk suppression is inherent in the magnetic circuit design, isolating the transducer from external electromagnetic fields. For rotor dynamics analysis, the 10 Hz frequency response captures fundamental imbalance and misalignment frequencies while filtering high-frequency bearing noise. Signal polarity must be verified during installation to ensure phase alignment with other transducers in the monitoring network.

Q: Does this transducer require an external power supply?

A: No. It is a passive device generating its own voltage through electromagnetic induction. No external excitation power is required.

Q: What is the maximum cable length to the monitor?

A: Keep total lead length under 300 meters (1000 feet) to prevent signal attenuation below the monitor's noise floor. Use shielded twisted pair for long runs.

Q: Can it be mounted on a curved surface?

A: No. The base must be in full contact with a flat, clean mounting surface. Use a mounting pad for curved surfaces to ensure proper mechanical coupling.

Field Installation Guidelines

Mount the transducer on a rigid, flat surface free of paint, rust, and debris. Torque the M10 x 1 stud to 20 N·m (177 lbf·in). Route the signal cable separately from AC power lines by at least 30 cm (12 inches). Terminate the shield drain wire at the monitor ground terminal only. Verify output polarity with a voltmeter tap test before commissioning.
