The Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16E is a high-reliability discrete output module designed for the ControlLogix platform. This module features 16 sourcing output channels, specifically engineered to drive 24V DC industrial loads such as solenoid valves, actuators, motor starters, and pilot lights. A distinguishing feature of the "E" variant is its integrated electronic fusing, which provides advanced protection for the module's circuitry against overcurrent and short-circuit conditions, reducing the need for external fuse blocks and simplifying cabinet wiring.

As a core component of the 1756 I/O family, the 1756-OB16E supports "Removal and Insertion Under Power" (RIUP), allowing for maintenance without system shutdown. It is capable of being utilized in a local chassis alongside the controller or as distributed I/O across EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet networks. The module's high-speed switching capability and robust isolation make it suitable for high-duty cycle applications in automotive, packaging, and material handling sectors.
